Carey Charlotte's Story
40 years, wow. Since HS, I have gone to Culinary Arts School, have an Assoc.'s in Restaurant and Hotel Management, been an executive chef, owned a pastry restaurant, and currently own a 98 yr old plantation bed and breakfast near Houston, Texas with my husband. We have completely restored it ourselves. After years of restoring and "flipping" properties, doing the work ourselves, we decided to do one for us. We have many pets, most of them rescues. e B&B, the 7th for visiting friends and our grandson. We live on the 3rd floor, where I can watch birds fly by my office window! It's pretty bizarre. We do weddings and receptions for 2 to 150+. We just finished turning the barn into a venue for the weddings.
I have lived in the Portland, Oregon area for many years, Phoenix for 10, and now Texas for 7. I have one daughter and one grandson, who can do no wrong! They live about 55 miles from us. My husband teaches auto mechanics at a private vocational school, and plays waiter for the breakfast guests!
